Scentinel Animal Monitoring and Termination

[Tuesday, September 19, 2006]

Scentinel is a powerful, programmable animal monitoring and termination device. Developed in conjunction with scientists Rod McDonald (Hort Research) and Dr. Carolyn King (Waikato University).

The Scentinel uses iQuest embedded electronic hardware and software. Loosely based on the successful IRIS family hardware the Scentinel can support weighscale, camera, digital and analogue I/O along with RFID tag reading, communications and datalogging. Data may be unloaded by low power radio, cellular communication or on site via USB serial comms.

The Scentinel has been successfully trialed with ferrets as a target species.
